Hardy evergreen culinary sage with beautiful and bright golden and green leaves.
Needs warm sunny and well drained soils to thrive, can be grown in pots or beds.
- Many culinary uses in savory dishes slightly milder than normal sage officinalis
- Medicinal properties used historically for digestion, memory, cleansing – antibacterial, smudging. The Latin drived name Salvia – ‘salveo’ translates – ‘to heal’
- Rich in folklore – prizes by Romans an Greeks in ancient times for cleansing and preserving, in Medieval times it was used in cleansing and whitening teeth. It is long associated with wisdom.
